The Mission of the Thunder Hill Elementary School PTA:
- To promote and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies that make decisions concerning children;
- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation
The core of the PTA's mission is to take care of students and to help families in nurturing, protecting, and developing their children. This upcoming school year is a time when the PTA is needed most to make an impact on our school, but it is also a time when many families will find it difficult to participate and help the PTA accomplish its mission. Many of you are so very busy right now, and finding time to volunteer for anything seems impossible. Many have lost jobs or seen hours reduced, and some families may not be able to be as generous with their financial gifts as they have been in the past. Despite these challenges, the PTA remains committed to its mission, and there are plenty of ways for you to help us.
The objectives of the Thunder Hill PTA:
- promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship
- raise the standards of home life
- secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
- bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education
of children and youth
- develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest
advantages in physical, mental, and social education.

Becoming a PTA member is one of the simplest ways you can help the PTA. Becoming a member does not obligate you to attend meetings or volunteer for activities, but it does show that you are committed to helping our organization serve our Thunder Hill community. If you visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thunderhillpta you will find the details for getting your membership, or you can go to Memberhub.com and find our PTA there.
Our meetings are a great way to find out more information, learn what the PTA is doing, and have your voice help shape the direction the PTA is headed. School administration attends most of our meetings, and these are a great way to address questions and concerns with our principals directly. If you wish to attend, please send an email to [email protected] for an invitation.
